The Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand – Te Kāhui Mate Pukupuku Repe Tātea o Aotearoa – Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading men’s cancer charity. Their Vision is to significantly reduce and ultimately end suffering and death from prostate cancer, by providing support and education, funding research and advocating to reduce the impacts of the disease.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation is a growing, influential organisation focussed on two significant men’s health conditions – prostate and testicular cancers. 

Purpose:
This exciting events role is a key member of the charity’s Fundraising Team, which has a dual responsibility to maintain and develop existing revenue streams while responsibly exploring and converting new opportunities.

In conjunction with the Fundraising Marketing Manager, you will develop and plan the event strategy while leading the tactical execution of event fundraising activities. These events are carried out in the name of and to benefit our two brands: the Prostate Cancer Foundation of NZ and Testicular Cancer NZ. You will also lead on working with others who are carrying out their own fundraising event activities to benefit PCFNZ and TCNZ.

We are looking for someone who has the following experience:

  •  3 years’ experience at a charity or not-for-profit entity
  • Direct experience of managing charity-led and supporter-led events in support of fundraising goals
  • Revenue and expense fundraising budget setting at a high level
  • Proficient in Office 365 (incl. Word, PPT, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint etc)
  • Knowledge of, interest in and desire to learn about and incorporate the Māori worldview in the charity’s activities
  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills, capable of building and developing successful relationships with stakeholders.
  • Effective communication, both written and oral
  • Excellent presentation skills highly desired

Bring your event planning skillset to a role which will lead and design key events which support fundraising campaigns such as Blue September, Auckland Marathon and Pedal4Prostate. 

The role is based in Auckland and while there will be instances in which full weeks in the office will be necessary, hybrid working including 2 days in the office and 3 days’ work from home when appropriate will be considered.
