Vice President of Finance .

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for all financial reporting, short and long-term financial planning and analysis, business intelligence, general and cost accounting, tax, banking, cash management and information technology. The VP Finance represents the business on financial accounting issues, ensuring that the business meets all corporate, statutory, and regulatory requirements. The VP Finance is a business partner to operations assisting with system improvements, and analysis. To achieve success in this high intensity, rapidly growing environment, the VP Finance will need a broad array of financial, technical, managerial, and leadership skills.


  • Work collaboratively with the President to drive operational efficiencies through data driven decision making.
  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives while maintaining alignment with overall strategic value proposition.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting and IT functions of the organization.
  • Expand and improve use of Business Intelligence tools.
  • Drive development of Operational Exception Reporting.
  • IT management includes infrastructure, data management, cyber security, IT roadmap, completion of IT initiatives.
  • Work closely with parent Company personnel to improve intercompany communication, business practices, efficiencies.
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. Manage consolidation and financial reporting to the President and Board of Directors.
  • Drive internal process improvement to create organizational efficiencies enabling revenue growth and cost containment, i.e. labor utilization, inventory management, and quality control.
  • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive cost accounting system to accurately track customer/product level reporting.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs / strategies, and regulatory action.
  • Ownership of the budgeting and operational forecasting process, including deep-dive analysis required to provide insights for decision making across multiple locations and multiple product categories.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure business goals and financial targets are met or exceeded. Collaborate with functional leaders to identify their needs and recommend business solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Facilitate and manage internal and external financial audits.
  • Interface with banks to secure lease programs and lines of credit.
  • Coordinates company risk management program and communication with insurance brokers. Assesses insurance needs, evaluates various proposals
  • Management of accounting department, business intelligence, financial planning & analysis,
  • Lead, mentor, and coach high performing teams through active feedback, training, and educational opportunities. Identify and retain key talent by providing stretch assignments so they are prepared for their next opportunity.


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within the food distribution CPG industry, including a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proven experience improving processes relating to financial forecasting, business intelligence, financial analysis, budgets, consolidation, and reporting to the Company and its diverse board.
  • Ability to provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities, while advising on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing relationships with banking and financial institutions as well as legal and audit firms.
  • Proficient in Financial Planning & Analysis, including pricing analysis, customer performance analysis, year to go forecast, Cost of Goods (COGS), and SKU profitability analysis.
  • Background building and mentoring high-performing finance, accounting, and IT teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with all levels within the organization.
